How to use the focus timer
Define the next action
Choose an action you can begin now, such as outlining a report or reviewing a file. Put unrelated notifications and tabs aside yourself.
Start a work window
Try twenty-five minutes or choose a shorter window to get started. The running view clears the page content; Fullscreen is available on supported browsers.
Review the result
At zero, note what you did and decide whether to continue, change tasks, or take a separate break.
Focus sessions with a clear purpose
Starting a draft
Use ten minutes to make an outline before choosing a longer writing window. A small starting task can be easier to plan than a whole document.
Reading a technical section
Set thirty minutes to read and take notes on one section, with a check of what still needs clarification at the end.
Working on a project
Choose forty-five minutes for a specific project step. Use the timer on a second screen if your main screen is needed for the work.
A quieter view while you work
- The running timer uses the whole viewport and hides navigation, store links and reading content.
- Show only the liquid level by hiding numbers in Settings, and choose No Alarm for a silent ending.
- Pause and resume with the on-screen control or the space bar when a text field or button is not focused.
This tool uses the same liquid countdown as our free visual countdown timer. Choose that page for your saved general-purpose presets.
Frequently asked questions
Does the focus timer block distracting websites?
No. It gives you a visible work window and a distraction-free timer view. You need to manage other websites and notifications yourself.
How do I enter fullscreen?
Start the timer and select Fullscreen if the button is available. Unsupported browsers still show the running timer without the page content.
Can I hide the countdown numbers?
Yes. Turn off Show Remaining Time in Settings to follow only the liquid animation while the countdown runs.
Can I reset a focus session?
Yes. Stop returns to the duration controls. Start again to begin a fresh session; it does not continue the stopped countdown.
