For a timed group activity, tell students what to produce during each phase. Use one classroom timer on the projector if everyone works together. Give groups a link to the exact duration if they start at different times.

A three-minute think-pair-share

Start each phase when you finish giving instructions. When the discussion ends, bring the group back together and invite a few pairs to share. For a longer activity, try 10 minutes to draft, then 5 minutes for peer feedback.

Add a timer link to a lesson or assignment

1. Enter the exact duration. For example, set 1 minute and 30 seconds for each speaker or open the 90-second speaking timer.
2. Select Copy timer link, then paste the link into the slide, lesson plan, or assignment beside the instructions. Google Classroom supports attaching links to assignments. Google Classroom Help
3. Open the link on a student device before class. The timer waits for Start. Each device runs its own countdown, so use one projected timer if everyone needs the same ending.

Keep the timer visible and the display awake when the ending matters. Use No Alarm in Settings if several groups will run timers in the same room.
