Keep a countdown beside a task when you want a time reference without opening another tab. On a second display, start fifteen minutes for a reading section and leave the document on your main screen.

Choose numbers, liquid, or both in Settings. If the motion draws too much attention, use another timing method. A preferred display is a usability choice, not evidence about a particular brain region.
